The series was greenlit to be revived at its original home network during the quarter of 2017-2018. The season was a nine-episode run. All the original cast members returned. Although a thirteen-episodic Season 6 was announced, it was later canceled following the death of Cameron Boyce.

- This season was announced two years after when Season 4 ended.
- This season was originally supposed to have 10 episodes but it never aired because it was supposed to feature Luke coming home from knee surgery alive and well but with Cameron Boyce's death happening the episode never aired at all.
